Black Snow Fall

A dark and exotic acoustic tune featuring voice, flute, udu, and bell strings. I wrote the bulk of the lyric in poem form when I was seventeen years old and had been carrying around the poem for years before I incorporated it into this tune. I performed all of the instruments and voices on this recording.

BLACK SNOW FALL

A serpent cloud sits high;
like a veil it covers the sky.
The cold of winter has come
to steal away the light.

She was like a soft summer breeze.
Her eyes were the warm setting sun.
But now my only friend is a bitter loneliness.
All I can feel is a chill
as the black, black snow falls.

And though the storm has passed
her reign still clouds my eyes.
Voices from the sky
seem to scream her last goodbye.

Gone are the nights when we both lay as one.
Gone are the days filled with warmth from the sun.
Trust has withered away with the falling of the leaves.
And now all I feel is alone
as the black, black snow falls.

Oh, so cold the storm
that rages inside of me.
So lonely is the end.
Her haunting memory won't let me be.
